I spend the majority of my free time with the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) which is (according the their main web page – www.sca.org) : “The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our “Known World” consists of 19 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which feature tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, various classes & workshops, and more.”  That may not sound as interesting as it actually is.  There are a ton of different activities to choose from in the SCA.  I like to do leatherwork, and thrown weapons (throwng axes, knives, and spears).  I also participate in heavy combat, archery, camping and dancing.  If you haven’t heard of the SCA before, check out the webpage for more info and to find a local group near you.

I also am a miniature figure wargamer.  I like collecting and painting miniature armies and then sitting down with good friends for a good game.  Yes, I also enjoy computer games but looking over a well setup table full of figures has a certain appeal that modern gaming can’t match.  I’m also a roleplaying gamer.  I’ve been involved with many campaigns with many different rules sets.  I’m a big fan of the old “The Fantasy Trip – In the Labyrinth” game by Steve Jackson and Metagaming.

Lastly, I’m preparing to get married.  M’Lady is a real sweety who rocks my world.  We’ll be ‘hitched’ in less then a month.  We’ve got lots to do so posting my be spotty for a while.  I plan to post pix of some of my collections, tips on finding/making throwing weapons, and leatherwork projects.  Once again, if you have any suggestions, or ideas to share, feel free to comment.
